This might surprise you, but avocados contain more potassium than bananas do.

Potassium is important because it can help reduce blood pressure and many people aren’t getting enough of it.

Avocados are a great source of fiber which helps your body in a number of ways like lowering your risk of disease and helping you lose weight.

Avocados contain nutrients like Lutein and Zeaxanthin which can protect your eyes from developing cataracts and other vision problems. The vitamin A found in avocados also protects your eyes from potential problems like night blindness.

There isn’t a huge amount of evidence to support this yet but avocados are one of those superfoods that may prevent certain cancers.

Avocado’s are high in oleic acid which can help prevent cancer.
